Though I'm a complete Manileña, some of my most vivid childhood memories come from my dad's mahogany farm in Mindoro, surrounded by farmland, rainwater, and carabaos. I spent much of my childhood playing outdoors—sometimes in the mud with my siblings, sometimes with the children of indigenous Mangyan families. Their generosity and quiet strength shaped how I came to understand community, interdependence, and dignity, long before I had the language for it.
In my early teens, I received a competitive, full academic scholarship to study in Singapore. Transitioning to a competitive academic environment abroad was intellectually formative. I graduated from an all-girls convent school with an exceptional humanities program, and subsequently from the National University of Singapore with an Economics (Honors) degree. These trained me to think critically, write precisely, and navigate complex systems—skills I’ve carried into my professional life.
Today, I work in credit risk at California's best credit union, where I monitor portfolio health and develop data-driven insights that inform lending strategies. My role requires a balance of technical skill and strategic thinking. I approach it with the same discipline and perspective I’ve developed over the course of a life lived across very different social and economic systems.
